The gods created man, and man created stories.

The primeval creator Marda brought forth the land of Mardias. In the past, a mighty battle shook this land when Elore, the king of the gods, fought against three evil gods: Death, Saruin, and Schirach.

After a long and grueling battle, Death and Schirach were sealed and rendered powerless, and the last god, Saruin, was also captured with the help of the power of the soapstones and the noble sacrifice of the hero Mirsa.

Now 1,000 years have passed since that gigantic battle. The Fatestones lie scattered throughout the world, and the evil gods have risen again. Eight heroes embark on their own journeys, as if guided by fate. What tales will these adventurers weave across the vast tapestry of Mardias? Only you can decide!

The original Romancing SaGa - Minstrel Song - featured many of the SaGa series' signature elements, such as the Glimmer and Combo mechanics, and was considered the epitome of the series when it was first released. The free-form scenario system that lets you create your own story remains at the heart of the game, allowing you to choose one of eight protagonists with completely different origins and backstories, then embark on a unique journey. This remastered edition has evolved in every way, with upgraded HD graphics and numerous improvements to enhance gameplay. And for the first time in the series' history, the game will be fully playable in French, German, Italian and Spanish. This makes it highly recommended for fans of the original and newcomers to the SaGa series alike.
