The continent of Europe - an alternative timeline - is in the midst of the Second European War between the Atlantic Federation and the autocratic Eastern European imperial alliance. Although the Federation is bravely fighting the forces of the Empire, the ruthless Imperial military machinery threatens to devour them. The operation "Northern Cross" is to avert the threat of defeat by a daring attack on the imperial capital at the last moment. Commander Claude Wallace and his most loyal friends are sent as Squad E to ensure the success of the desperate operation.
