With the water-soluble backing, you can create beautiful embroideries on thin fabrics like organdy and batiste, as well as thicker fabrics like towels and velvet.
Other types of backing are left behind during embroidery, making the fabric stiff and rough. Our backing dissolves, leaving no residue in the embroidery, resulting in a softer and more beautiful finish.

- When using the water-soluble backing, the shiny side of the material should be attached to the fabric.


- Place the water-soluble backing under the fabric to be embroidered and secure it in an embroidery frame.


- If sewing on fabric with nap or stretch material, place a sheet of water-soluble backing on the top and bottom, then secure the three layers in the embroidery frame and reduce the tension on the top thread.


- If sewing on fine fabric, increase the top thread tension by 2.


- Once the embroidery is complete, trim away the excess water-soluble backing, then soak the fabric in water until the remaining backing is completely dissolved.
