GL.iNet GL-MT5000 Gateway
The GL.iNet GL-MT5000 is a wired VPN gateway with three 2.5G Ethernet ports and VPN speeds of up to 1,100 Mbps with WireGuard and 1,000 Mbps with OpenVPN-DCO. Multi-WAN, DPI, SQM and Dynamic QoS provide control over network traffic, while OpenWrt 21.02 allows additional packages and services to be installed. The gateway has a 2.0 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1 GB DDR4 RAM and 8 GB eMMC storage. A USB-C 3.0 port supports external storage and 3G/4G/5G modems, while the compact 75 × 92 × 25 mm housing makes it suitable for home and small office networks.
Three 2.5G Ethernet ports provide one WAN and two LAN connections, with flexible port configuration for Multi-WAN setups. The WAN port can be configured as LAN, while one LAN port can be used as WAN. A USB-C 3.0 data port supports external storage and 3G/4G/5G modems, including use as a backup Internet connection.
DPI can filter malicious traffic, gambling sites and malware, as well as block specific applications, domains and IP addresses. SQM helps reduce latency under heavy network load, while Dynamic QoS prioritises traffic according to applications. OpenWrt 21.02 with a Linux 5.4.281 kernel provides further configuration options and supports additional packages and services. With 1 GB DDR4 RAM and 8 GB eMMC storage, the GL-MT5000 can also be configured as a lightweight NAS, DLNA media server or system-level ad blocker.
The gateway is powered by a 2.0 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and measures 75 × 92 × 25 mm, with a weight of 148 g. Power consumption is below 5 W.
